Yankees vs Rangers: Game 2 Preview, Key Players, and Streaming Options

After winning the series opener 4-2, the New York Yankees will face the Rangers on Tuesday, looking to take the series advantage in Game 2 in Arlington.
Game 2 Preview
The Yankees used a powerful third inning in the first game to secure their league-best 19th win, and they have the momentum. They won 9 of their last 10 games, and everything seems to be clicking for New York.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are in a tougher spot. They lost 6 of their last 9 games. After dropping the series opener, they will be desperate to win the game to stop their back-to-back series loss.
Key Players to Watch
For the first time since he started against George Kirby in his second start of the season, Cam Schlittler will not be the center of attention of a pitching matchup. He will be starting against legendary Jacob deGrom.
deGrom has a 2.13 ERA and a 1.066 WHIP in his five starts for 2026, fanning 35 batters, including 10 Bucs in a masterful performance against the Pirates most recently. Schlittler is no slouch, either. He's carrying a 3-1 record and a 1.77 ERA into the game. He is coming off a dominant performance against Boston, where he threw 8.0 innings and allowed only one earned run to earn the win.
The pairing of Ben Rice and Aaron Judge is currently carrying the Yankees' offense. Jazz Chisholm Jr., Trent Grisham, and Jose Caballero are all solid, but Rice and Judge are just unstoppable.
In the series opener, Rice hit his 10th homer of the season while Judge hit his league-leading 11th. In doing so, they became the first pair of Yankees teammates since Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra in 1956 to each have 10 or more home runs in the first 29 games of a season.

The Yankees will likely be without Giancarlo Stanton, who is heading to the 10-day Injured List with a calf strain. Stanton is going to be missed in the lineup if not play, because he has a good record against deGrom. He hit four home runs in 27 at-bats against deGrom with a .333 batting average. Cody Bellinger also has two career home runs in just 19 at-bats against the Rangers' ace.
The Rangers will rely on the hot bats of Josh Jung, Brandon Nimmo, Corey Seager, and Jake Burger. They will try to push Schlitler and force the Yankees to depend on the bullpen arm, as relief work is New York's weakness.
Jung has been batting .371 in April with four home runs and 14 RBIs. Nimmo continues his presence at the top of the order, leading the team with 32 hits and a .281 average. Seager is leading the team in home runs (6), and Burger leads the club with 19 RBIs.
